Innerstate - A Tell-Tale Trail
There's a peculiar sense involved when we're talking about progressive metal genre. Sounds a bit weird at first, especially when to my ear, 'prog' mostly associates with grace and delicate play of music, while metal, deals with aggressiveness. So things escalates quickly when suddenly I decided to listen to Innerstate, an early 90s 'progmetal' band from UK.
Throwback to 1992-1993 there was a rock radio station in Bandung, GMR, that played all kinds of rock genres, and this band was one of them who received a high dose of airplay. Take for example "Blue Law". This track suits perfectly with the definition of grace and melodic angst.
Honestly I don't know what happened to them after this album, whether they disbanded or else. Such a disappointment, considering they could be 'a big one' in this genre.
