Shining Light

I rarely pay attention to the lyrics, since for me music is the main thing of the song. Plus, the kind of music I like is mostly blurry spoken words of shoegazing, or even countless minutes of instrumental electronic music. But, indeed, there are a few songs which give me a hook. One of them is this early 2000 hits from Ash.

Started with a catchy riffs and Tim Wheeler's soaked voice, the song gets its momentum when comes to the reff :

Some powerful lines there. All emotions suddenly spill out to every square millimeters of my nerves. And then comes the most dazzling and glorious bridge ever :

Sustained by this climax :

I've seen you draped in an electric veil

Shrouded in celestial light

Maan..it's like the combination of grace, power, high hopes, and all sustained in a pulsating and gripping pace. Hats off, Tim.

Later on, this song is covered by Annie Lennox. And you know what, surprisingly, I like her version better hahaaa..
